Book Review - ‘The Wedding Trousseau and Other Short Stories’

Author - Ankita Sharma

Even though I recv. a copy from my friend Ankita, the author of this book, I would like to say that this is purely objective and unbiased.

Coming to the book, what I liked the most is the diversity of stories and that most of her writing silently questions the society regarding their norms and age old thinking. One can easily relate to the dialogues of characters.

‘The Pink Card’ points to the hypocrisy of people.

‘The Wedding Trousseau’ is a question mark on Indian style arranged marriages and wrong priorities.

‘Just Perfect’ enlightens with the definition of perfection.

‘One More Bite’ – Shows that how much we are concerned about the well-being of the people related to us but don’t have even a bit empathy about those who are from other backgrounds.

These are some of my favorites but all eleven stories are worth reading.

On her very first book she does not seem like a complete amateur.

Over all, I loved this book very much and would wish her all the best for future!

I give a rating of 4/5 to this title.
